Exterior walkway
1992
75 sq m (800 sq ft)
This 2200 square
foot exterior walkway in the sculpture garden of the Albuquerque
Museum of History and Art, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA contains
two mosaics by Robert Stout.
The northern
section motif is based on two sets of opposing spirals, a mathematical
pattern seen often in nature, e.g. in sunflower heads and pine cones
on end. The center motif is an ancient interlocking motif found
in Roman and Byzantine art.
